MISSION MOMENTS – a window into our Impact
August 2024
At the July 15th Board Retreat, members shared inspiring moments that show the Impact100 Metro Denver mission in action. Do you have a Mission Moment to share? Let us know and we will share it in the September newsletter. Send an email to: bridget@epplife.com
Some of the Mission Moments that were shared:
For me, it was our Accelerator Grant. The idea of moving towards a trust-based philosophy and sharing out with members was such a great way to engage the voices of all of our members. – Yolanda Webb
The Grants Leadership Team embraced all the changes made to the grants process designed in service to Trust-Based Philanthropy. They not only implemented the changes, they stayed flexible and adapted well in any unintended moments that came from such big changes. They were a great team and our grants committee members experienced their cohesion and our nonprofit partners benefitted from these changes. – Deb Brackney
My Impact100 moment was calling members to connect during the pandemic. I talked to several members I did not know well or at all and was amazed at the different backgrounds and perspectives each woman was contributing to our chapter. Not to mention they were just delightful to talk to! – Tori Meyers
The year we helped our grantee, Bridge House, win a Grant award from Google. Our Bridge House liaison asked if we could get Impact members to vote for their organization for a community development grant that Google was funding. Members voted as did other friends of Bridge House and they received over $125,000 in addition to our award. A great partnership! – Sue Gallanter
I love how our “On-Boarding” team is in full gear. Marcia Doty learned that her new member was attending a New Member Orientation. Marcia turned on a dime and was there to welcome our new member. – Margaret Prentice
I would like to highlight our DEI/ABIDE journey that began as a small group trying to learn what we didn’t have as a competency, bringing membership along and ultimately hiring Priscilla and Brandy to create our new strategy. – Alisia Robin
We’ve continued to provide spaces for our members to connect and learn. It started for me with the virtual call with Kelly Brough and Christine Benero during the pandemic and continues this year with the conversation between Denver Health, Denver Public Libraries, Mile High United Way and The Women’s Foundation. Learning about the unique skills of our community’s organization and understanding the heart of our issues, so we can be more informed and solve them effectively. Since the April event, those speakers have even gotten together to see how they can partner together! – Jess Welser
