It’s an opportunity to connect with like-minded women, learn about the needs of our community, and make meaningful impact together. The Membership Committee plays an important role in making sure every new member feels welcome, informed, and excited to get involved.
A Personal Welcome
The onboarding process begins with personal outreach to each new member. A member of the Onboarding Team contacts the new member to introduce themselves, welcome her to Impact100 Denver Metro, and help make her first experience with the organization a positive one. The initial conversation in an opportunity to learn a little about the new member, answer questions, and makes a personal connection. We want every new member to know that she has joined a community where her participation, ideas, talents and interests are valued.
Getting to Know Impact100 Denver Metro
New members receive an overview of Impact100 Denver Metro, including our mission, how the organization operates, and the ways our collective-giving approach supports nonprofit organizations in the Denver Metro community. We explain the various opportunities available to members—from participating in grant review and site visits to attending events, volunteering, serving on communities, and connecting with other members. Understanding the many ways to participate helps new members find the level and type of involvement that is right for them.
Discovering their Interests
One of the most important parts of onboarding is learning what interests each new member has.
We ask questions such as:
- What areas of our community are most important to you?
- Are there particular nonprofit or philanthropic issues you care about?
Answering Questions and Making Connections
New members often have questions about everything from membership expectations to upcoming events and volunteer opportunities. The Onboarding Team is there to provide answers, clarify how things work, and serve as a friendly resource as members become familiar with the organization. More importantly, onboarding is about connection. We want new members to know where to go for information, who they can reach out to, and how they can become part of the Impact100 community.
Building Engagement from the Beginning
A successful onboarding experience helps transform a new member from someone who has simply joined into an engaged and connected member of our organization. By reaching out personally, sharing the Impact100 story, discovering each member’s interests, answering questions, and introducing opportunities for involvement, the Onboarding Team helps create a strong foundation for a rewarding membership experience.
Every new member brings something unique to Impact100 Denver Metro. Our goal is to make sure she feels welcomed, connected, and inspired to discover her own way to make an impact.
