At this event, Impact100 members will get an inside look—and a hands-on role—in turning surplus food into community nourishment during our visit to We Don’t Waste, one of our valued grantees.\nThis is not your typical site visit. It is part behind-the-scenes tour, part Impact100 Metro Denver deep dive, and part feel-good volunteer experience that reminds us exactly why Impact100 exists. Here’s what’s in store:\n9:00am | The Impact Story: We will kick things off with a short presentation from the We Don’t Waste Education Team, who will share how their innovative model tackles two problems at once: food waste and food insecurity. You will also hear how Impact100’s 2021 grant helped fuel this work—connecting your generosity directly to measurable outcomes in our community.\n9:30am | Behind-the-Scenes Tour: Next, take a guided tour of the facility with the Development Team. You will see firsthand how donated food moves from truck to table—and how logistics, partnerships, and quick thinking make it all possible.\n10:00am | Volunteer & Make It Happen: This is where the magic happens. Led by the Volunteer Team, members will help sort donated food for distribution across the community. It might be canned goods, coffee, spices, or fresh produce—every day at We Don’t Waste is different, and that’s part of the fun.\nGood news: activities can be done seated, and accommodations are available to ensure everyone can participate comfortably. By the end of the morning, you will leave with a deeper understanding of the impact you help make—and the satisfaction of knowing you played a direct role in getting food where it’s needed most.\nCome curious.
